Sunday School
Our Church has been blessed by our Lord with a team of gifted Sunday School teachers and Sunday School has always been the core strength of our church.
The Sunday School starts at about 10.30 a.m. on every Sunday. Immediately after the service, the children assemble to praise the Lord, learn and sing songs. Thereafter they disperse to their respective classes according to their age group. We follow the Sunday School textbook published by Children Education and Charitable Institution (CECI). The syllabus covers comprehensively both old and New Testament portions supplemented by appropriate practical activities which enrich the scriptural knowledge of children.
In order to appreciate and encourage children, various competitions viz. Memory verses, Singing, Elocution and Examination are conducted.
The portions for Memory verse competition are given well in advance so that they can learn and memorize the maximum number of verses. The topics for the elocution competition for the seniors are given on the spot while for the others it is given well in advance. The prizes for the various competitions are distributed during the month of December.
Children are taken to visit Home for the underprivileged children to inculcate and bring awareness about the kids around them.
A one day retreat-cum-picnic is also organized for the children once a year.
The Sunday school children also participate in the Carol service during the Christmas season.
The Sunday School Sunday is usually held on an appointed Sunday in the month of November. The entire worship service is conducted by the Sunday School children. Besides, praising God their talents are revealed through songs, skits, etc.
